One of the challenges in implementing this program is the high level of food waste. Food quality is one of the factors that may influence the amount of food waste generated. Preliminary findings showed that the highest percentage of food waste came from vegetable dishes, reaching 81.5%, which exceeded the recommended maximum limit (<20%). This study aimed to analyze the effect of food quality on vegetable dish food waste in the Free Nutritious Meal Program at SMPN 30 Batam. A cross-sectional study design was employed with a sample of 92 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a food quality assessment questionnaire and food waste measurements using the food weighing method. Data were analyzed using logistic regression. The results showed a significance value of 0.352 (p>0.05), indicating that there was no significant effect of food quality on vegetable dish food waste. The Odds Ratio (OR) value of 0.580
indicated a tendency for good food quality to reduce the likelihood of food waste; however, the association was not statistically significant. Food quality had no significant effect on vegetable dish food waste in the Free Nutritious Meal Program at SMPN 30 Batam. Nutrition education and evaluation of other factors potentially influencing food waste are recommended to improve students' vegetable consumption.
2026-07-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Medihealth: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan dan Sainshttps://www.jurnal-ikmb.id/index.php/Medihealth/article/view/130ANALYSIS OF INTERVENTION RECOMMENDATIONS TO IMPROVE WEIGHT AND SLEEP QUALITY OF PREMATURE INFANTS IN THE HOSPITAL: LITERATURE REVIEW2026-06-30T18:00:08+07:00Aulia Dwi Saraswatiauliadwisr@gmail.comMeldini Putri Dahnurreginanatalia9@gmail.comApriliana Silviareginanatalia9@gmail.comRegina Nataliareginanatalia9@gmail.com
Premature infants are at high risk for developmental disorders, including low body weight and poor sleep quality. Intensive care in the NICU often focuses on medical approaches, but non – medical intervensions such as infant massage, kangaroo mother care (KMC), and nesting techniques have been shown to be effective improving weight gain and sleep quality in premature infants. This study is a literature review study of 20 experimental articles published in 2019-2025, which were obtained from the PubMed and Google Scholar databases with specific inclusion criteria. The results show that infant massage therapy can stimulate the vagus nerve system, thereby accelerating metabolism and increasing infant appetite. Kangoroo care support weight gain and sleep quality by providing warmth from skin to skin. Nesting techniques, by positioning the baby’s body in a stable and comfortable position, can significantly improve infant sleep quality. Nursing intervetions such as infant massage, KMC, and nesting are effective and simple approaches to improving weight gain and sleep quality in premature infants during NICU care.
2026-07-25T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Medihealth: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan dan Sainshttps://www.jurnal-ikmb.id/index.php/Medihealth/article/view/122FORMULASI DAN EVALUASI SEDIAAN CLEANSING OIL MINYAK BIJI BUNGA MATAHARI (HELIANTHUS ANNUS L.) This study aims to determine the effect of varying concentrations of decyl glucoside on the physical stability and irritation potential of sunflower seed oil-based cleansing oil preparations. The research was conducted experimentally with five formulas containing decyl glucoside at concentrations of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10% with a fixed oil composition. The preparations were evaluated based on organoleptic properties, pH value, homogeneity, viscosity, stability (cycling test), cleansing power, and irritation potential. The research results show that the increase in surfactant concentration affects the pH value, viscosity, and organoleptic stability of the preparation. The pH value increased with the concentration of surfactant up to 8.7 at the highest concentration (10%), while the viscosity value increased from the range of 315.32–400.46 cP to 321.47–456.97 cP after stability testing due to the weakening of surfactant strength and the formation of droplet aggregates. All formulas showed good cleansing power and did not show any signs of irritation based on the human patch test method conducted. Formula F1 with a concentration of 2% decyl glucoside shows the best stability because it does not experience changes in color, odor, phase separation, or sediment formation during the stability test. In conclusion, the surfactant concentration affects the pH value, viscosity, and stability of the cleansing oil preparation, and the use of decyl glucoside is considered not to have the potential to cause skin irritation in the applied testing method. It is recommended to conduct further research to optimize the formulation and evaluate the safety and effectiveness of long-term use.
2026-08-04T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Medihealth: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan dan Sainshttps://www.jurnal-ikmb.id/index.php/Medihealth/article/view/134CULTURAL BELIEFS AND DELAYED RECOGNITION OF SPEECH AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT AMONG PARENTS OF YOUNG CHILDREN: A QUALITATIVE EXPLORATION2026-07-29T13:28:06+07:00Renny Adelia Tariganrenny.adelya27@gmail.comNelli Rozanelliroza101201@gmail.comNorma Jeepi Margiyantinormajeepi02@gmail.comDesi Pramita Sarichypramitha24@gmail.comNurfitrifitriaminuumar@gmail.com
Speech and language development is a critical aspect of early childhood development that influences children's cognitive, social, emotional, and communication abilities. Early recognition of developmental delays is essential for timely intervention; however, parents' recognition of speech and language problems is often influenced by cultural beliefs and social norms. This study aimed to explore cultural beliefs contributing to delayed recognition of speech and language development among parents of young children. A qualitative exploratory study was conducted among parents of children under five years of age in coastal communities in Batam City, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews using purposive sampling. Additional perspectives were obtained from midwives and community health volunteers involved in child developmental monitoring. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns and meanings related to parental beliefs and developmental recognition. Five major themes emerged: (1) speech delay perceived as a normal developmental variation, (2) belief that children will eventually speak without intervention, (3)
influence of family traditions and intergenerational advice, (4) limited awareness of speech and language developmental milestones, and (5) delayed healthcare-seeking behavior. These beliefs often reduced parental concern regarding developmental delays and contributed to delayed utilization of developmental screening and health services. Cultural beliefs play an important role in shaping parents' understanding of speech and language development. Misconceptions regarding normal developmental patterns may hinder early recognition and intervention. Strengthening culturally sensitive parent education and empowerment programs is necessary
to improve awareness of developmental milestones and promote timely access to developmental screening services.
2026-07-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Medihealth: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan dan Sainshttps://www.jurnal-ikmb.id/index.php/Medihealth/article/view/131THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL MEDIA EXPOSURE AND'S EDUCATION REGARDING GIVING HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS IMMUNIZATION2026-07-02T12:41:53+07:00Reysa Lamislamisreysa@gmail.comCatur Yulinawatilamisreysa@gmail.comHuzaimalamisreysa@gmail.comRofiqo Larasati Philiplamisreysa@gmail.comMona Rahayu Putrilamisreysa@gmail.comAsya Aunima Tabilalamisreysa@gmail.com
2026-07-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Medihealth: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan dan Sainshttps://www.jurnal-ikmb.id/index.php/Medihealth/article/view/123PENGARUH PENDAMPING CONTINUITY OF CARE (COC) TERHADAP KEBERHASILAN GIZI BALITA 2026-07-01T04:37:35+07:00Feby Purnamasarifebypurnamasari934@gmail.comSyafruddinfebypurnamasari934@gmail.com
Speech and language development is a critical aspect of early childhood development that influences children's Nutritional status is an important indicator for assessing a child's health, growth, and well-being.
